WHAT IS A DENTAL ASSISTANT?

A dental assistant is the backbone of any dental office, serving as the doctor’s right hand and playing a crucial role in patient care and clinic efficiency. From assisting with procedures to managing patient records, dental assistants ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for patients. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), dental assistants in the U.S. earn an average salary of $46,540, highlighting the value and importance of their role in the healthcare field.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

*At any time, a prospective student has the option to visit any of our campuses. Time is designated each week with our Instructors and/or Career Advisors. You can make your reservation by Contacting Us.

Step 1:

Students start by completing a simple online application, providing key information about their background and experience. After submission, they receive a confirmation and can expect to be contacted by our admissions team for the next steps, ensuring a smooth and convenient start to the enrollment process

Step 2:

Once the inquiry or application is received by the Registrar, the student will be contacted within 2 business days by phone or email. During this initial contact, our team will guide the student through a brief phone interview, answer any questions they may have, and provide additional information to ensure they feel fully prepared for the next steps in the enrollment process. This personalized approach helps students feel supported and informed right from the start.

Step 3:

Formal enrollment takes place, which includes the completion of New Student Paperwork and payment agreements. Students may access their agreements by logging into the student portal. Please note: A minimum deposit will be required at the time of enrollment depending on your specific payment agreement. Enrollment is not finalized until all student paperwork and transcripts are received by the Registrar.

Step 4:

students are encouraged to promptly request an official copy of their high school transcript or GED, as well as any college transcripts, to support their application. These documents should be sent directly to the Admissions Office at NC Dental U, located at 123 Capcom Dr #4, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Submitting these records early helps ensure a smooth and timely admissions process.

At least one week before classes are scheduled to begin, the Registrar or your Instructor will reach out to provide detailed information about required textbooks, class materials, and any other resources you’ll need to be fully prepared. This communication ensures that all students have ample time to obtain their materials, review any preparatory instructions, and address questions, setting them up for a successful start to the program.

Dental Team Roles & Services for a Comprehensive Patient Experience

Dental Assistant

provides chairside support, sterilization, patient comfort, and procedural setup to ensure smooth and efficient treatments.

Office Manage

Manages the clinic’s daily workflow, including appointment scheduling, patient record-keeping, billing, and office coordination.

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Delivers clinical support like x-rays, patient prep, and procedural assistance, following specific state certifications.

Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDA-EF)
